Duxbury is providing a free mentoring service through the Northwest Development Agency’s Mentoring Programme.  Our network of mentors covers the Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside regions.  If you are a small to medium sized enterprise, operating for more than 12 months, and with a turnover of less than £2m, you may well qualify for this free service. 

 

The aim of the programme is to provide leaders and senior managers from micro and small sized businesses the opportunity to maximise their ability and potential through inspirational mentoring. The mentoring programme is focused on mentoring the individual, rather than mentoring the business.  By receiving practical support, over a period of 6-12 months, from experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders, you will be able to optimise your business performance and growth through the effective transfer of knowledge and valued experience.

 

Mentoring involves an experienced and credible business manager or leader supporting and developing another, through the sharing of their business experiences and the resulting lessons learned. It is a supportive and inspirational relationship based on trust and mutual respect, and benefits accrue to both participants. Mentoring is about developing ability and potential in an individual allowing them to optimise their business performance.

 

We have assembled a team of talented, high calibre mentors who understand the needs and aspirations of SME owner/managers, having successfully developed their own businesses or managed at a senior level in Blue Chip organisations.  All our mentors are volunteers and they are committed to providing a first class experience for our clients.

 

We carefully match the needs of each client with the skills of our mentors and seek to create a relationship that is beneficial and enjoyable to both parties.  We meet each client face to face to gain a thorough understand of your needs.  We then identify the most appropriate mentor for you and you then embark on up to 12 months of face to face support, meeting for up to 2 hours per month.  You set the agenda to suit your own development needs.  We will also support your relationship with your mentor, providing initial training and ongoing support to ensure that you gain the most from the relationship.
